Biography

I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. I completed my PhD under the supervision of Professors PĂ©rez-Leroux and Cuervo in the area of L2 acquisition and processing of Spanish. Following my PhD, I completed a post-doctoral fellowship with Professor Schwieter in his Language Acquisition, Multilingualism, and Cognition Laboratory, where we investigated the role of language processing compponents in L2 end-state proficiency, including working memory, perspective taking, and inhibitory control.

Research

I conduct research in L2 acquisition and processing, with a particular interest in the cyclical nature between the two: How are language processing strategies shaped by language acquisition experience? How is language acquisition impacted by language processing strategies? I have explored these broad questions in studies on L2 acquisition and processing of article semantics, question formation (syntax and intonation), syntactic ambiguity (syntax and intonation), past tense morho-syntax, gender agreement, and study abroad contexts.
